Wednesday Night Recap
I don't usually recap the Wednesday night service, but last night's service was special. Tony Wilson filled in for me. He brought a lesson entitled, "What God Wants in Way of a Gift." He lead us through several passages (Isa. 56:7, Phil. 4:18, Heb.13:16, Prov. 15:8, Isa. 1:11-15, Jer. 6:19-20) and we looked at the types of gifts offered to God and his responses to them. We ended by looking at Romans 12:1-2. We were reminded as we looked through these passages that the attitude of the heart was more important than ritual and that God desired obedience over sacrifice. Paul's call to present our bodies as a living sacrifice reminds us that our sacrifices are not based in death and bloodshed, but through living and obedient faith. As we seek to live for him, He will guide us into his good, perfect and pleasing will. Thank you, Lord. And thank you, Tony.
