Morning: The sermon, "The Purpose of the Gifting," explored Ephesians 4:7-16. In this passage, Paul explored the gifted nature of the church with a primary focus on apostles, prophets, evangelists, and pastor/teachers. The purpose of the gifting is to equip God's people for works of service so that the church will grow into the fullness of Christ. We learn to serve, we serve to grow. The church grows as we anchor ourselves in God's truth, speak that truth to each other in love, and do what God has called us to do.Evening: We looked at the doctrine of God the Father. We looked at Matthew 6:25-34 to explore the implications of providence.
